The Thankful Table Centerpiece

a bunch of colorful cut flowers

Floral centerpieces wake up a foyer and can make a dinner party more appetizing. Give them more personality by adding an element of what you’re thankful for in the arrangement.

Creating your own design is simplified if you follow the thrill, hill, fill, and spill approach. A bold, long-stemmed fall flower is the thrill and hill. The fill is a spreading vine as it cascades and spills over the vase. Add baby’s breath for shape.

For longer lasting flowers:

·         cut the stems on a diagonal from short to long accordingly

·         place them in cold water 24 hours before display

·          soak foam filler about 20 minutes beforehand

This is meant for a small, vertical or horizontal vase display, so repeat this one more time for a medium size and two more times for a large.

The final touch is very personal. An attached momento like a photo or quote that makes you thankful makes it much more special in the spirit of Thanksgiving.
